Blackfoot Dance Classique and Conference!!

On Saturday we headed to Blackfoot for another dance competition, this time we got Jaime and McKade to tag along. There Jazz dance was first and they got off to a little bit of a rough start, they entered on the opposite side they usually do so they were backwards and flipped. They managed to straighten out their formation and spacing before the music started but it kind of messed them up for the whole dance. Lyrical was next and went much smoother and they looked super cute as always. We didn't stay for awards so we don't know the results yet but I think they'll have ended up towards the top on both dances. Next up was the dance down and it was a really big group this time. There were 25 little cuties and this time the age group was pre-k and kindergarten. They learned a cute little dance and kept dancing over and over until the judges had whittled it down to three. When it was all said and done Maddy came away with second place!! She was very excited and completely delighted that her prize was her very own beautiful crown. She was very glad she had decided to do it because right before there was some waffling on whether she wanted to do the dance down or not. It was a long but nice afternoon, it was a little too much dance for my two boys but luckily they had McKade to entertain and distract a little bit.

After the dance competition we dropped the kiddos of with Grandma Lori and Grandpa Bob and headed to Utah. We had tickets to conference and were so excited because it was the first time either of us had been in person. It was a little disconcerting to see more policeman then I have ever seen in my life outside the conference center because they were so worried about protesters, luckily they didn't seem to be needed. We had pretty good seats and the size of the center has always amazed me, seeing it completely full was really neat. And when President Monson walked in I have never in my life seen such a huge amount of people become completely silent so quickly. It was really neat and we enjoyed the session very much, the spirit was strong and their was one time in particular when President Monson was speaking you could feel the power and I got goosebumps. It was a great experience and nice for just Brandon and I to get away for a day. We also enjoyed the gorgeous spring weather and beautiful temple grounds while we were there. On the drive down between Malad and Plymouth we saw about 350 head of deer. We couldn't believe it, you always see some through there but not that many. On the way home we saw even more, we tried to count and in our rough estimation there was around 700 head of deer. It was crazy I have never seen so many deer at once in my life. When we went to pick up the kids Greyson was totally zonked out. The kids had been having lots of fun at the gym and rock wall, and semi-annual breakfast. Maddy was pretty proud of herself she made it all the way to the top and rang the bell, Greyson even climbed quite aways up. They had so much fun and were completely worn out by the time we got them home.
