Happy 4th of July!!

We love Independence Day and the opportunity to celebrate with friends and family and remember how truly blessed we are to live in our amazing country. That morning on the way to the parade I asked Greyson if he knew whose birthday it was. He said no so I told him it was America's birthday today, he paused for just a second and then he asked "Hers Grandpa Lou's Friend?” We laughed and said yes but Grandpa is not quite as old as his friend America, then at the end of the day he wanted to know where America's cake and her birthday hat were. The kid is a riot, he just keeps us laughing.

As is tradition we went to the parade with Grandma Lori and Grandpa Bob. Poor Grandpa had surgery on Thursday but toughed it out and came and enjoyed the parade with us anyway. The parade was great and for once it actually wasn't to hot. The kids were not fans of the clowns or the Dr. Slaughters people but then they never are. They got lots of candy and other great stuff like bracelets, balls, firemen helmets and even creamies. After the parade we met Justin and Carlee and the kids for lunch at IHOP, the kids were thrilled they love IHOP so the day just kept getting better and better for them.

After lunch we headed home and we all took a nap. That evening we continued the tradition of Freeman Park and the fireworks with my side of the family. I thought for sure we would get rained on but miraculously it missed us. We had lots of fun playing ball, hanging out, playing horseshoes, and McKade tried his first snow cone. The fireworks were great as always and it was the perfect finish to a wonderful day.
