Happy 4th of July!!

We had a wonderful holiday weekend. We really love the 4th of July and the chance to spend time with family. We are so grateful for this beautiful and amazing country we are blessed to live in. It's always nice to reflect on how truly blessed we are and to show our gratitude and respect for all of the amazing men and women throughout history who have contributed to making this such a great nation.

The kids ready for our big day

We always go with Brandon's parents to the parade in I.F., Maddy was supposed to ride on a float with her dance team but decided she would rather watch with us. She was excited to see her friends but decided to stay with us even when they tried to get her to join in the middle of the parade. She's getting so big and growing up so fast I have to admit I was glad she chose to stay and enjoy the parade with us. The parade was shorter then usual (yay!), and the kids got loads of candy and goodies. The kids always have fun with grandma and grandpa and the cousins, so the day was off to a great start.

Throwing pop-its before the parade

After the parade Grandma wanted a picture of all the grandkids. It was easier said then done I don't think any of the pictures they are all looking at the camera

Then we went to the greenbelt and walked around a little, they were having a festival. We looked at some booths and had some yummy food. Maddy loved pulling the boys in the wagon, and they all loved the fireman hats they got.

Later that day we headed to Freeman Park for the fireworks. We always go to the fireworks with my family, but this year it was just us and Grandma Cook and Grandpa Lou. Then our friends suprised us and came to hang out and the kids were excited to see Gracee and Emme. We always picnic and play games while we wait for the fireworks to start.

There was lots of visiting, games, food, multiple trips to the creek and river, and then fireworks.

Fun playing in the water

Waiting for the big show to start

The fireworks are always amazing but they seemed even better this year. The kids loved it. Maddy loved the rainbow ones and Greyson liked the "ellow" ones. Our little man also took advantage of the moment and planted a big fat kiss on Gracee. I guess he's a romantic little ladies man(sorry Liz)? Maddy was unusually cuddly and snuggled with Brandon the entire show.

The next night we lit of the fireworks we got in Alpine and the kids had fun with sparklers.

It was such a nice weekend and we loved the time we spent with family and friends. We are truly blessed not only to live in America but in our own safe, beautiful little corner of Idaho.
