Dance Recital!!

I can't believe it's time for Maddy's year end dance recital, it seems like we just got started. The night went great and was the perfect finish to a great dance season. Both of their dances and costumes were so cute this year, I loved them both and they are my favorites she has done in her three years of dancing. Her jazz "Walk like an Egyptian" was so fast, fun, and upbeat. And her lyrical "Goodnight My Angel" was so sweet, soft, and angelic. She prefers lyrical, she's a sucker for a ballad and loves to "emote"(as much as a six year old can!!). But she also loves to have fun and be silly and showy with jazz. She lit up the stage like she always does and danced her little heart out. I was again amazed at the little performer she is, you can see her love for dance shining through when she dances. It makes us so happy and proud that she has found something she loves and excels at. It's an added bonus that it's something I love and enjoy as well. She has some great little dance friends and they have so much fun together. She loves her teachers and her studio and has progressed and grown so much this year. Her teachers are so good about challenging her and making sure she is working hard and learning. The Little Gems had a very successful year and she had a great time but is already looking forward to and planning for next year. She has decided with her teachers encouragement to audition for the older competition team and after much thought we think the challenge will be great for her even if it means she will be dancing with older girls. She is very excited for tryouts and at the prospect of being a "Ruby" next year. She has also been dying to do a solo and I'm pretty sure that she has us convinced it would be a good thing for the next year as well. We want to thank everyone who made it to the recital and other performances throughout the year, your support means the world to her. I'll post pictures of the actual recital once I get them from my mom, in the meantime here are the before and after pics with her new trophies and her biggest fan!!
