Hives, Flesh Wounds, and Girls Night

So just when I thought the kids were on the mend, Maddy broke out in horrible, horrible hives. She woke up early Wednesday morning absolutely covered and just scratching. Luckily a midnight trip to the store for Benadryl and itch relief cream did the trick. She broke out again Wednesday night and again the Benadryl worked and she's been good ever since. It was really strange because I have no idea what could have caused it other then it just being part of whatever bug she had been fighting.
Thursday was her big field trip to the school bus compound where they got to ride the bus and learn all about bus safety. She had a blast and the bus is one of the things that she is most looking forward to this fall. She declared she is "All ready to go to school now". Thursday afternoon Skyler came over for a playdate and they were so excited to see their cousin and spend some time with him. Later that night Brandon was out checking to see if all of the sprinkler heads had survived the winter, Greyson was following behind him thrilled to be outside. One of the sprinklers sprayed Greyson and he tripped and fell forward onto his hands. He wasn't very happy so they headed into the house where Maddy pointed out the Greyson was bleeding. Sure enough his hand had a fair amount of blood on it so we headed to the kitchen to check it out. At the time we couldn't figure out what had happened because it was a very deep gash. If they could do stitches in the palm of the hand it would have needed stitches. So we cleaned it out (he thought the peroxide was hilarious) and put skin glue on it then covered it with a bandage. Later in the night we were checking it and it looked like there was something blue under the skin, so Brandon started pushing on it and it was hard. So we opened his hand up and there was a rock embedded in the wound. We had to get the tweezers and go down deep and fish out a very sharp rock. He's been totally happy ever since. Band aids won't stay on so we have his hand taped up with gauze so it can heal.
Friday Maddy and I went with Grandma Lori and Aunt Erica and Aunt Carlee to Rigby's Jr. Miss. We usually try to go every year and it has become a fun little tradition. Maddy's always up for anything with beautiful dresses and singing and dancing. We had fun and it was nice to have a girls night out. On the way home Maddy said "Mom those girls had good corography (choreography) huh". It totally cracked me up. Saturday was a nice family day we just hung out and then we watched Alvin and the Chipmunks, which the kids have been wanting to see again since they saw it at the theater with Grandma. It has been an interesting week and I'm hoping next week is a little less exciting.

Isn't having kids one of the best things. There is never a moment where one or the other doesn't need you. Hope they are doing good. Hope you guys have a great week!!!
