Pretty Quiet

So far it's been a pretty quiet week at our house. Friday night the kids had a sleepover with Grandma Lori and Grandpa Bob. They were so excited they love sleepovers and couldn't wait to start it. I don't think Grandma and Grandpa were quite as excited at 12:30 in the morning when Madalynn was still awake. Maddy has the hardest time falling asleep, we put her to bed and hours later she's still awake. It doesn't seem to matter what we do it doesn't help. Going to bed early doesn't work she's just awake longer, most of the time she doesn't nap, and then she lays awake half the night, then she's up at 7:00 in the morning ready to go. I can relate I have the same problem she does but I'm used to it and I know a 5 year old needs more sleep then the maybe 7 or 8 hours of sleep she gets in a 24 hour period. Last night we took away her really bright night light to see if that would help by making it darker in her room. After about a half hour of drama and us making her "sad, mad, angry, grumpy, and hurting her heart" because she just had her little night light it didn't work. She was up until just before midnight and then up first thing this morning. I don't know what we're going to do. When she finally does fall asleep she is out and completely dead to the world.



They had a wonderful time at their sleepover. Brandon and I went to dinner that night and were going to catch a movie but there was really nothing we wanted to see so we passed on a movie. Saturday night and Sunday we just hung out and didn't do too much. Monday we cleaned for a while and then hit the park. It was a really beautiful day even with our fabulous Idaho wind. The kids love the park and Greyson's new favorite trick is to go down the slide backwards and on his tummy. He's such a little monkey every time I turn around he's jumping off something or climbing something he shouldn't be. He is 100% boy and is a little daredevil. The other day he was trying to defy gravity and made a really big jump off the arm of our big chair. He landed alright but then when he got up his little leg gave out on him. It did it a few more times and we thought we were headed to the hospital but then he was totally fine and as soon as I would turn my back he was bailing off of things again. Sunday I made muffins and he kept asking for another "cake" he loved them and wanted more and more. I loved that he didn't make nearly as big of a mess of them as he does with cupcakes.



As you can see from the picture the bottom of our stairs is Greyson's very own personal ball pit. I can clean it up but it doesn't take long for it all to be back. Yesterday they added some other stuff and were down there playing for quite awhile. They play really well together most of the time, but more and more lately Greyson's realizing he can get really good reactions out of Maddy so he's started teasing a lot more.



We also finally found the v-smile adapter so they have been catching up on their v-smile time since the adapter has been missing forever.
